'When you think about "book banning" you think of Berlin during world war 2 and think "that could never happen here" but the reality is it could very easily happen here. This book will show you that it is a slippery slope from "we must protect the children" to losing your right to read any book you want. This book reminds you of that truth.'

'INSIGHTFUL AND COMPREHENSIVE. This the second nonfiction book I've read by this author and I found it just as impressive as the last. The author provides a comprehensive summary of the types of books that have been banned over the decades (no, centuries) and why. The why of course is almost always the same - those in power feel threatened by the gritty truths stitched into the fabric of social realism. The human condition is a complex one, filled with contradictions and misunderstanding. Worse, we have a shadow aspect to my psyche that holds everything we repress, deny or fear. Whether those choices are made on an individual or collective level, they are made and the consequence is impaired growth. In this book, the author declares a ban on banning and calls for open dialogue on books that challenge the status quo. Nothing could be more important, in my view.'

Throughout my life, I've always been a writer, forever crafting stories and exploring characters in the realm of my imagination. However, it took a concerning wave of book banning in various schools across conservative states to finally motivate me to publish. Seeing books that promote inclusivity, diversity, and genuine history removed from the educational environment profoundly disturbed me. Hence, I committed to combating this censorship through my writing, starting with children's books.
Drawing from the vibrant and imaginative minds of my children and grandchildren, I weave stories that instill wonder, provoke thought, and champion diversity. Their creativity, coupled with my passion for inclusive education, fuels my ambition to create content that stimulates their curiosity and encourages their own storytelling abilities.
Beyond crafting tales for young minds, I've expanded my writing horizons to engage older children and adults alike. Regardless of age, my goal remains the same: to nurture a love for reading and inspire a deep appreciation for our diverse world and its many stories.
Working in the Information Technology sector for over 25 years has equipped me with a unique perspective and a broad understanding of the digital world, further enriching my storytelling abilities. This fusion of technology and creativity yields a unique narrative style that resonates with readers of all ages.
In every story I write, I strive to capture the essence of imagination and the importance of understanding and accepting our shared yet diverse histories.
